Green Hills Community, in partnership with Episcopal Retirement Homes, received a $9.5 million tax credit to renovate all 76 of its affordable housing apartments. The work was completed in November 2015.
Each apartment features the following:
- Electric heat pump and central air
- Stack washer and dryer
- Walk-in showers with grab bars
- New flooring (vinyl plank living room and kitchen, tile bathroom and carpeted bedrooms)
- New windows with mini-blinds
- New cabinets with pulls
- Energy Star lighting
- TV and phone jacks in bedrooms
- Larger porches with rails
- New exterior doors
- Emergency call system in each unit
- A 38- to 40-gallon water heater in each unit

Of the 76 units, 19 will have two bedrooms while 57 apartments are one-bedroom units. Nine units are fully handicap accessible.

Eligibility for residency is available for those 62 years of age or older, handicap/disabled, regardless of age.
